Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Extends Congratulations on Turkmen Alabai Day

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan addressed the nation, including dog breeders and enthusiasts of the Turkmen Alabai, with heartfelt congratulations on Turkmen Alabai Day, celebrated this year under the theme of the “Treasury of Reason Magtymguly Fragi.” This day pays homage to the revered ancient breed, a symbol of national pride and cultural heritage for the Turkmen people.

In his message, President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the historical and cultural significance of the Turkmen Alabai, commending the dedication of breeders in preserving the purity, loyalty, and valor of these dogs. “Distinguished by their fearlessness, sensitivity, and intelligence, the Turkmen Alabai represents the national treasure and pride of our people,” he stated, urging further efforts in popularizing the breed globally.

The President emphasized the Renaissance of the new era, a time marked by enhanced resources for advancing the traditional Turkmen art of dog breeding. He praised the efforts of the International Association “Türkmen Alabaý Itleri,” which fosters international partnerships and holds global competitions, bringing Turkmenistan’s unique breed to the world stage. Modernized Alabai centers have been established across Turkmenistan, including in Ashgabat, enabling breeders to preserve the breed’s purity and uphold contemporary standards.

Underlining the Alabai’s enduring qualities, President Berdimuhamedov reflected on the dog’s reputation as a loyal guardian and national symbol. “Our courageous ancestors valued the Alabai’s loyalty, bravery, and companionship,” he noted, “qualities that are also celebrated in Turkmen classical literature.”

The President concluded with sincere wishes for health, prosperity, and success for all those dedicated to the Alabai’s preservation and the art of dog breeding, encouraging them to continue this noble work in Turkmenistan’s era of progress.
