Qatar and Egypt Discuss Regional Cooperation and Joint Mediation Efforts

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, held a phone call today with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdel Aati.

The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations. They emphasized continued coordination within the framework of joint mediation to ensure the effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of detainees and prisoners.

The conversation also addressed the latest developments in Syria and ongoing regional efforts to support the Syrian people during the transitional phase.

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman expressed Qatar’s appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in the joint mediation efforts that led to the agreement in Gaza. He noted that the collaboration between Qatar and Egypt significantly advanced the negotiations and contributed to achieving tangible results.

Reaffirming Qatar’s stance on Syria, His Excellency stressed the importance of supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and independence. He highlighted Qatar’s commitment to helping the Syrian people achieve their aspirations for a dignified life and the establishment of a state founded on institutions and the rule of law.

The discussion underscores the strong partnership and shared vision between Qatar and Egypt in addressing pressing regional challenges and promoting stability and cooperation in the Middle East.
