Saudi Crown Prince Calls for Global Action to End Gaza Crisis During Hajj Reception in Mina

Mina, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed the international community’s responsibility to end the devastating consequences of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, during his address at the annual Hajj reception for world leaders and dignitaries held at the Royal Court in Mina Palace on Saturday.

Delivering the speech on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince conveyed heartfelt Eid Al-Adha greetings to all Muslims worldwide and prayed for the acceptance of pilgrims’ Hajj and good deeds.

“This blessed Eid Al-Adha comes while our brothers in Palestine continue to suffer as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression,” the Crown Prince said. “We emphasize the role of the international community in ending the disastrous repercussions of this aggression, protecting innocent civilians, and working toward a new reality where Palestine can enjoy peace in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.”

Prince Mohammed bin Salman highlighted Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in serving Islam and Muslims, particularly the pilgrims of Hajj and Umrah. He underscored that serving the Two Holy Mosques remains a national priority, stating that the Kingdom dedicates all its resources to ensuring the pilgrims’ ability to perform their rituals in ease and comfort.

“God Almighty has honored this country with the service of the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. We will continue this blessed endeavor with the help of God, as we recognize the great responsibility and honor of this service,” he said.

The Crown Prince concluded by invoking prayers for security and stability in Saudi Arabia, the Muslim world, and globally, and for the safe return of all pilgrims to their families.

The prestigious reception was attended by numerous Islamic leaders, including:

  • President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani
  • President of the Maldives Dr. Mohamed Muizzu
  • Vice President of Benin Mariam Chabi Talata Zimi Berima
  • Former Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed

Several religious figures and officials from pilgrim affairs offices and government agencies also took part. Notable speakers included:

  • Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah and Chairman of the Hajj Guests Service Program Committee
  • Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Hussein, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Secretary General of the Muslim World League for Jerusalem and Palestine
  • Sheikh Mohammed Abu al-Khair Shukri, Syrian Minister of Endowments

In his remarks, Dr. Al-Rabiah highlighted major milestones of the 2025 Hajj season, including the implementation of 46 energy projects worth over SR3 billion, along with advancements in the transport and healthcare sectors. He also noted the expansion of shaded areas covering over 300,000 square meters, and digital upgrades to the Nusuk app and platform, now offering over 130 digital services to enhance the pilgrim experience.

This year’s Hajj reception reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to religious service, regional stability, and global humanitarian advocacy, particularly amid ongoing crises such as the situation in Gaza.
