Malaysian Leaders Showcase Aerospace Ambitions at International Paris Air Show 2025

Le Bourget, The Gulf Observer: Malaysian representatives were in high spirits as they attended the prestigious International Paris Air Show (IPAS) 2025, currently taking place in Le Bourget, France, from June 16 to 22.
Among the key figures representing Malaysia at the world’s largest aerospace exhibition were Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
In a notable highlight, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari shared a video on his social media platforms showcasing the opening ceremony of the Malaysia Pavilion at IPAS 2025, further underscoring Malaysia’s active participation in the global aerospace industry.
IPAS, held biennially at Paris–Le Bourget Airport, is organized by the Groupement des industries françaises aéronautiques et spatiales (GIFAS), the principal association representing France’s aerospace sector. The event attracts global stakeholders from both civil and military aviation industries.
During the exhibition, Amirudin also officiated the launch of the Selangor Aero Park (SAP) at the Malaysian pavilion, marking a significant milestone in Selangor’s commitment to aerospace development.
Describing the occasion as historic for both Selangor and the National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office (Naico), Amirudin stated on his official website that the SAP initiative embodies the shared ambition to strengthen Malaysia’s aerospace workforce and innovation capacity.
“Our vision for Selangor Aero Park places human capital at the heart of our growth strategy, with initiatives focused on training, research, and future skills development to ensure we build a strong, resilient, and future-ready aerospace workforce,” he said.
He further highlighted key initiatives under SAP, including the proposed Aerospace Talent Centre and collaboration through the national aerospace platform, MyAERO, positioning Selangor as a future regional aerospace capital.
“Selangor is not only investing in infrastructure, but also in the young talent who will lead the future innovation of the aerospace industry in Malaysia,” he added.
Strategically located within KLIA Aeropolis – a 100-square-kilometre integrated airport city – Selangor Aero Park is expected to spur growth in aviation, logistics, and high-tech industrial development, further reinforcing Malaysia’s position on the global aerospace map.
