In a statement issued in Jakarta, the secretariat emphasized that the president’s visit reflects Indonesia’s strong commitment to reinforcing its role and standing in global forums while advancing innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation.

“President Prabowo’s presence at Expo 2025 in Osaka serves as a manifestation of Indonesia’s diplomacy on the global stage, cementing the country’s position as one of the most influential regional and world powers,” the statement noted.

President Prabowo was accompanied on the flight by Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Expo 2025, to be held in Osaka from April 13 to October 13, will run under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The six-month-long exhibition will foster global collaboration on pressing challenges including climate change, digital transformation, and sustainable development.

Indonesia’s participation is marked by its pavilion carrying the theme “Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future,” inspired by the Balinese philosophy Tri Hita Karana, which emphasizes harmony among humanity, nature, and the divine. With 158 countries taking part in the global exhibition, Indonesia aims to showcase its cultural and economic strength while promoting sustainability.

The Presidential Secretariat also highlighted that Indonesia has secured US$23.8 billion in investment commitments across key strategic sectors in connection with its participation at the expo.
