Kazakhstan and Türkiye Sign Protocol to Enhance Road Transport Cooperation

Turkistan, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan and Türkiye have signed a protocol to extend cooperation in the field of road transport during a meeting of the Kazakhstan–Türkiye Commission on International Road Transport, the Transport Ministry of Kazakhstan announced.
The agreement provides for the abolition of permit requirements for transit shipments, enabling unrestricted transit until corresponding amendments are introduced to the existing intergovernmental agreement. Under the protocol, Kazakhstani carriers will also be granted access to loading and unloading operations at Turkish seaports, further strengthening logistical ties between the two countries.
In addition, both sides agreed to introduce the digitalization of permits for bilateral and transit transport by the end of this year, phasing out paper documents in favor of electronic systems. Kazakhstan already applies a similar digital system in its road transport operations with China and Uzbekistan.
Officials emphasized that the agreement reflects Kazakhstan and Türkiye’s shared commitment to deepening cooperation in the transport sector and enhancing transit potential along the strategically important China–Europe corridor.
