OCCI SME Committee Reviews Proposals to Enhance Estidamah Sustainability Platform

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) on Sunday discussed a set of proposals aimed at developing the Estidamah sustainability platform, during a meeting chaired by Sheikh Ahmed Amer Al Muselhi, Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of its members.
The proposed developments focus on providing a comprehensive package of services through the Estidamah portal, as well as establishing an integrated link between the Chamber’s official website and the Estidamah platform following the completion of its renewal process.
The committee also emphasized the importance of accelerating and simplifying project registration procedures and setting a defined timeframe to attract the maximum possible number of projects within the first six months of the platform’s launch.
In addition, members reviewed the phased implementation plan for the platform and discussed challenges related to the unification of SME classifications among relevant authorities. Efforts to attract major companies to sponsor the platform and offer direct services and value-added solutions to beneficiaries were also examined.
During the meeting, the Estidamah website was reviewed, along with its objectives and operational mechanisms. Several key themes were discussed, most notably coordination with insurance companies to facilitate access to insurance services for entrepreneurs, including vehicle, project, and health insurance.
The discussions further addressed the unification of preferential pricing for small and medium enterprises, in cooperation with insurance providers, as part of broader efforts to enhance support services and sustainability for the SME sector.
