Starlink Officially Launches Satellite Internet Services in Tajikistan

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Starlink, the satellite-based internet service operated by SpaceX, has officially launched operations in Tajikistan, the company announced on February 5.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Starlink said its high-speed, low-latency internet service is now available across Tajikistan. The rollout marks a significant expansion of Starlink’s footprint in Central Asia, a region where rugged mountainous terrain and remote communities have historically limited access to reliable broadband connectivity.
Starlink is operated by Starlink Services LLC, a global telecommunications company and a wholly owned subsidiary of SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk. The service relies on a constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites to deliver broadband internet to areas underserved by traditional terrestrial infrastructure. Starlink is currently active in around 130 countries and territories worldwide.
The launch in Tajikistan follows Starlink’s earlier expansion into Kazakhstan. On June 12, 2025, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry signed a formal agreement with Starlink, requiring compliance with national telecommunications and information security regulations. That agreement enabled the official use of Starlink services by individuals, businesses, and government institutions, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach regions.
With its entry into Tajikistan, Starlink is expected to play a key role in improving digital connectivity, supporting economic development, and expanding access to online services in some of the country’s most remote areas.
