Tashkent Hosts National Seminar on Digital Platforms to Boost Scientific Efficiency

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: A national seminar titled “Digital Platforms and Efficiency in Modern Scientific Research” was held in Tashkent through the cooperation of the Association of Scientific Researchers and Innovators and Science and Innovation, marking a significant step toward accelerating digital transformation in Uzbekistan’s scientific sector.
The seminar emerged as an important strategic dialogue platform aimed at enhancing the role of digital technologies in the development of science across the country. Participants highlighted that rapid publication of scientific results, open data exchange, transparent evaluation criteria, and international integration have become essential drivers in advancing modern research.
The event focused on systematizing these processes and improving scientific infrastructure in line with contemporary global standards.
Emphasis on Digitalization and Global Integration
Bakhtiyor Rustamov, Founder and CEO of Science and Innovation, underscored the necessity of digitizing scientific journal workflows and strengthening research management systems. He emphasized that scientific platforms should not be viewed merely as technical tools, but as comprehensive infrastructures that manage and shape the broader scientific ecosystem.
Diana Abdumuminova, regional representative of Clarivate in Uzbekistan, delivered a presentation on international indexing systems, particularly the evaluation criteria of the Web of Science platform. She noted that understanding and implementing these standards is crucial for integrating local scientific publications into the global research landscape.
Recognition of Excellence
As part of the seminar, winners were selected across six nominations and honored in a formal award ceremony. Awards were presented to the most active author, the most exemplary journal, and authors achieving the highest h-index within the Web of Science database.
Organizers noted that such initiatives promote healthy competition, encourage high-quality research output, and strengthen academic integrity within the scientific community.
Memorandum to Strengthen Scientific Infrastructure
During the seminar, a Cooperation Memorandum was signed between Science and Innovation and the Association of Scientific Researchers and Innovators. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in developing scientific infrastructure, integrating research platforms, and coordinating scientific processes nationwide.
The memorandum is expected to support the development of Uzbekistan’s national scientific ecosystem along a unified strategic path, facilitate the adoption of international standards, and increase the global visibility of scientific research produced in the country.
Characterized by active discussions and professional exchanges, the seminar marked an important milestone in shaping a scientometric culture and reinforcing academic principles.
Experts noted that continued implementation of such initiatives will enable Uzbekistan’s scientific infrastructure to align with modern international standards, further strengthening the global standing of the country’s researchers.
