Casablanca, The Gulf Observer: King Mohammed VI has appointed Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan as Coordinator of the Offices and Services of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, according to a statement issued by the Royal Cabinet on Saturday in Rabat.

The position was previously held by King Mohammed VI himself during his tenure as Crown Prince, when he was entrusted with the responsibility in 1985 by his father, King Hassan II.

The statement emphasized that the Royal Armed Forces operate under the authority of the King, who serves as Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff. It highlighted that the institution is guided by core values including competence and discipline, integrity and commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility in fulfilling both national duties and humanitarian missions.

It further underscored the spirit of sincere patriotism across all branches of the armed forces, noting their continued adherence to the enduring national motto, “God, the Nation, the King.”

The appointment places the Crown Prince in a strategically significant role closely linked to the internal coordination of the military’s central command structures, marking an important step in his expanding responsibilities within the state framework.
