Oman, Singapore Explore Enhanced Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Stability in Muscat Talks

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi on Monday received Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, in Muscat, where both sides held comprehensive discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional developments.
During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed avenues for expanding cooperation across key sectors including energy, transport, digital economy, and innovation. They emphasized the importance of advancing these areas to reinforce the existing partnership and unlock broader opportunities for mutual benefit.
The discussions also covered the latest regional developments, with both sides exchanging views on mechanisms to de-escalate tensions and support initiatives promoting calm and constructive dialogue. The ministers underlined the need to prioritize political and diplomatic solutions to enhance regional security and stability, while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of maritime navigation and global supply chains.
Additionally, the two officials highlighted ongoing preparations for the third round of the Oman-Singapore Strategic Dialogue, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening institutional consultation frameworks and deepening bilateral engagement.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both countries, including Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Hosani, Head of Asia and Pacific Department, Luke Goh, Permanent Secretary of Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nordin Said Hashim, Chargé d’Affaires of the Singapore Embassy in Oman, along with other representatives from both sides.
