Dushanbe to Host 35th FAO Regional Conference for Europe and Central Asia

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Tajikistan is set to make history as it hosts the 35th Session of the Regional Conference for Europe and Central Asia (ERC) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This marks the first time the high-level gathering will be held in the Central Asian region.

Scheduled to take place from May 11 to 15, the conference will convene in the capital city, Dushanbe. The Ministry of Agriculture reports that the event will bring together more than 550 participants, highlighting the critical nature of food security and agricultural cooperation in the current global climate.

- Delegates from 54 FAO member states.

The Tajik Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs have executed a broad diplomatic outreach, issuing invitations to 54 member states and 46 international organizations. Registration for the session concluded on May 4 via the official conference website, setting the stage for one of the most significant diplomatic events in the region.

The presence of ministers, deputy ministers, and ambassadors underscores the session’s role as a primary forum for discussing the transformation of agrifood systems.
