Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry Warns of Rising Global Security Tensions Amid Ongoing Conflicts

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement highlighting growing international security risks amid escalating tensions and ongoing armed conflicts in various regions, including Ukraine and the Middle East.
The ministry noted that the current global security environment continues to pose a serious threat to international peace and stability, with conflict zones remaining highly dangerous for civilians.
According to the statement, there have been tragic cases in which Azerbaijani citizens in such regions were killed or suffered injuries of varying severity as a result of armed clashes and military operations.
“These incidents once again demonstrate that security risks in and near conflict zones are extremely high and pose serious threats to the lives and health of our citizens who travel to or operate in those regions,” the statement said.
The ministry urged Azerbaijani citizens to carefully assess security conditions before traveling abroad, strictly follow official travel advisories, and avoid visits to areas affected by armed conflict or military operations.
The statement further emphasized that participation by Azerbaijani citizens in armed conflicts abroad, whether on a voluntary or mercenary basis, constitutes criminal liability under national legislation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan also stressed that diplomatic missions and consulates continue to operate actively to safeguard the rights and interests of Azerbaijani citizens overseas.
Authorities reiterated the importance of personal responsibility in ensuring safety, urging citizens to avoid high-risk activities in unstable regions.
The ministry added that it continues to closely monitor developments in the international security situation and will provide further guidance as necessary.
