PM Shehbaz, Field Marshal Asim Munir Hold High-Level Talks with US and Iranian Delegations in Switzerland

Bürgenstock, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a bilateral meeting with US Vice President JD Vance at the Bürgenstock Resort in Switzerland, media reports said on Sunday.

According to reports, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were also present during the meeting.

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir met an Iranian delegation led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf at the Bürgenstock Resort.

The Iranian delegation included Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.

The meetings focused on matters of mutual interest and regional developments, according to media reports.

Responding to a question regarding Pakistan’s role in mediation efforts, US Vice President JD Vance praised Islamabad’s contribution, saying: “Very good, we love Pakistan.”

The high-level engagements took place on the sidelines of diplomatic consultations in Switzerland aimed at promoting dialogue and regional stability.
