UAE President, Albanian President Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Sustainable Cooperation
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received President of the Republic of Albania His Excellency Bajram Begaj, who is on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed President Begaj and expressed his hope that the visit would contribute to further strengthening relations between the UAE and Albania and expanding constructive cooperation across various fields.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in key sectors, including the economy, trade, renewable energy, technology and infrastructure. They emphasized the importance of advancing shared interests and supporting the prosperity and well-being of both countries’ peoples.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening UAE-Albania relations and expanding development partnerships in support of sustainable economic growth.
The discussions also addressed the 2026 UN Water Conference, which will be hosted by the UAE in December. The leaders highlighted the importance of joint efforts to advance sustainability and address water-related challenges, while stressing the need for continued coordination and cooperation through international forums.
Sheikh Mohamed and President Begaj also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. They underscored the importance of strengthening efforts to promote security, stability and peace at regional and international levels and contributing to a more prosperous future for all.
During the meeting, President Begaj presented Sheikh Mohamed with the Grand Star of the Supreme Order of the Eagle, Albania’s highest state decoration awarded by the Albanian President.
The honour recognizes Sheikh Mohamed’s role in strengthening UAE-Albania relations and advancing cooperation and development between the two countries across various fields. It also reflects Albania’s appreciation of the strategic importance of bilateral ties.
Sheikh Mohamed expressed his gratitude to President Begaj for the honour and reaffirmed his commitment to building on the progress achieved in UAE-Albania relations for the benefit of both nations.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and a number of ministers and senior officials, along with members of the delegation accompanying the Albanian President.
