Bahrain and United States Strengthen Economic Ties in Roundtable Session
Washington, The Gulf Observer: Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, participated in a significant roundtable session organized by the American Chamber of Commerce.
Joined by Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, and Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United States of America, alongside high-level representatives from the U.S. business sector, the gathering took place on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings held in Washington.
The central focus of the event was to bolster existing cooperation and trade exchange between Bahrain and the United States, with the objective of expanding business opportunities and achieving shared goals and aspirations.
During the session, Minister Al Khulaif underscored Bahrain’s ongoing initiatives, programs, and plans aimed at nurturing its high-potential sectors and attracting investments. She emphasized that the implementation of projects and strategies aligned with the objectives of the Economic Recovery Plan would play a pivotal role in achieving sustainable economic growth.
Steve Lutes, the Vice President of Middle East Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, commended the robust trade relations between Bahrain and the United States. He expressed the Chamber’s anticipation of introducing more American innovations and modern technologies to support Bahrain’s economic diversification opportunities and growth strategy.
Among the distinguished participants at the roundtable were Khush Choksi, the Senior Vice President of International Relations at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, members of the Chamber, and representatives of private investors including Bechtel, Citibank, PepsiCo, Climate AI, DLA Piper, Formula Hydrogen, Utopia, GE Vernova, and Ignite Power.
The fruitful discussions and exchanges at the roundtable underscore the commitment of both Bahrain and the United States to strengthen their economic partnership, foster innovation, and drive sustainable growth for the benefit of both nations.
