Qatari Shura Council Participates in 34th Session of AIPU Executive Committee in Algiers
Algiers, The Gulf Observer: Qatari Shura Council participated in the 34th session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), held on Saturday in Algiers, Algeria. The Shura Council was represented by HE Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dosari, a member of both the Shura Council and the Executive Committee of AIPU.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee discussed the report of the AIPU’s Secretary-General and explored mechanisms for advancing the Union’s objectives. The committee also focused on forming ad hoc committees and reviewing the agenda items for the upcoming 36th meeting of the AIPU.
HE Ibrahim Boughali, President of the AIPU, emphasized that the meeting took place against the backdrop of significant regional and global developments. He highlighted the dire situation in Palestine, including the racial execution and brutal crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians, as a critical issue that profoundly impacts the Arab region.
HE Boughali underscored that the situation in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories will be a central focus of the agenda at the forthcoming 36th meeting of the AIPU, reflecting the urgency and gravity of the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people.
The 34th session of the AIPU Executive Committee marks a concerted effort by Arab parliaments to address pressing issues and strengthen parliamentary collaboration in the face of regional challenges.
