Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei Casts Vote in Iran’s 2024 Presidential Election
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei cast his vote on Friday morning during the first minutes of voting in Iran’s 2024 presidential election.
At 08:00 local time, the early presidential election commenced in Iran, with 61,452,321 eligible voters participating in the 14th presidential election.
The election follows a tragic incident on May 19, in which President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and the entire accompanying delegation were martyred in a helicopter crash.
Four candidates are vying for the presidency: Masoud Pezeshkian, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Saeed Jalili, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi.
