U.S. State Department Urges Progress in Azerbaijan-Armenia Peace Talks

U.S. State

Washington DC, The Gulf Observer: U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken commended the significant progress made by Azerbaijan and Armenia during their latest meeting of foreign ministers. Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Blinken highlighted the considerable strides taken by both parties towards peace, stability, and security.

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, addressing a press conference, conveyed the U.S. administration’s ongoing commitment to supporting the peace process. “The only thing the U.S. can continue to do is encourage them to step forward,” Miller stated, reflecting the diplomatic stance of the United States.

“Signing an agreement is crucial for the peace, stability, and security of both nations and the region as a whole. We believe that peace is possible, but it requires the parties to make difficult decisions and compromises,” Miller emphasized.

The U.S. State Department reiterated its determination to assist Azerbaijan and Armenia in resolving their disagreements. “We will continue to push the parties to resolve this latest disagreement and reach an agreement,” Miller said, underscoring the U.S.’s role in facilitating dialogue and promoting a sustainable resolution to the conflict.

This statement follows a series of diplomatic efforts aimed at fostering cooperation and understanding between the two nations, whose conflict has long-standing implications for regional stability.
