Al Seef brings music, family fun and live entertainment
With the temperatures dropping as we head into the UAE Winter, Al Seef is all set to welcome residents and tourists to enjoy cultural activities, creative children’s workshops, group workout sessions, live entertainment, and more in the historical heart of Dubai.
Kicking off over the weekend, the festival will take place till December 31 with activities encompassing both Emirati and global cultural events, fitness sessions, UAE and international musical performances, a children’s play celebrating the Emirates’ 50th year, and much more.
Dubai Fitness Challenge
Al Seef isn’t just shopping, eating out, and taking relaxing dhow rides – there’s plenty on offer for the active among us, of all ages, as well. On November 19 and 20, fitness-themed kids workshops, which run across six hours on both days, will teach children how to design and build their own cap, sun visor, stress, and sports balls.
For the adults, a trained fitness instructor will be on hand between 6 and 10am on November 19 to guide you through the Active workout routine. The next day, a Pilates instructor will conduct four 20-minute sets, from 6-8am and 4-6pm.
UAE Jubilee-themed play
Al Seef has always been steeped in Emirati heritage, so it’s no surprise that there’s a mega-celebration running to mark the UAE’s 50th National Day. Across December 1, 2 and 3, from 5-9pm, kids workshops, traditional Emirati entertainment, and an exhibition of kiosks marking the UAE’s unique cultural journey will take Al Seef visitors on a journey that both entertains and informs.
Children can spend up to six hours a day learning how to paint clipart, use sand to craft wonderful designs on paper, practice Sadu weaving and get to grips with the basics of Arabic calligraphy.
The whole family is sure to enjoy a UAE Jubilee-themed play, performed by (and for) UAE-based children. Arabic storytellers and jalsat musicians will be performing at Al Seef too.
Finally, there will be seven kiosks – one for each emirate – marking notable moments in the history of the UAE. They focus on the history of the souq, trade around the creek, qahwah, sadu, dates, pearl farming and the UAE mission to Mars. They’re a perfect way to learn about the unique heritage of the Emirates as you go for a pleasant stroll along Al Seef’s 1.5km walk.
Al Seef is the ultimate destination for friends and families to enjoy the good weather on the shores of Dubai Creek. Whether you’re looking to sample some waterfront dining, hunt for bargains in an Emirati souq, learn about the country’s history through a special museum experience, or appreciate a unique hotel stay, or go for a leisurely dhow ride across the water, there are no limits to what you can get up to at Al Seef.
