Azerbaijan Showcases Tourism Potential at Pakistan Travel Mart Exhibition in Karachi

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s rich tourism offerings were prominently featured at the Pakistan Travel Mart exhibition in Karachi, as part of an initiative to promote the country’s growing tourism industry. Organized by the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, the country’s participation included Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and six Azerbaijani tourism companies.

The Azerbaijani stand at the exhibition provided visitors with an opportunity to explore the country’s UNESCO-listed cultural and historical monuments, renowned national cuisine, diverse tourism routes, and modern infrastructure. The presentation highlighted Azerbaijan’s status as an emerging tourism destination, attracting increasing interest from international travelers.

A key aspect of Azerbaijan’s tourism outreach was the introduction of direct flights by AZAL from Baku to Islamabad and Lahore, enhancing connectivity and making it more convenient for Pakistani tourists to visit the country.

In 2024, Azerbaijan saw a remarkable 47% increase in the number of Pakistani visitors, with 80,924 Pakistani citizens traveling to Azerbaijan, reflecting the growing appeal of the destination.

Azerbaijan’s presence at the Pakistan Travel Mart is expected to further strengthen ties between the two countries and position Azerbaijan as a prime destination for Pakistani travelers, offering a blend of historical, cultural, and modern attractions.
