Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Sign MoU to Enhance Sports Collaboration
Paris, The Gulf Observer: The General Sports Authority (GSA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Paris, marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in the sports sector.
The MoU was signed by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), along with His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Prince Fahad bin Jalawi, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee; Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the GSA; Essam Abdulaziz Al Jassim, Bahraini Ambassador to France; Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the GSA; and Adwa Abdulrahman Al Arifi, Assistant Minister for Sports Affairs of Saudi Arabia.
The MoU aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sports areas, focusing on promoting community sports, Paralympic sports, women’s sports, and combat sports. Additionally, the agreement includes provisions for organizing events, developing sports professionals, and collaborating on sports investment, facility management, and long-term training programs.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasized that the MoU represents a strategic advancement in the sports relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, reflecting both nations’ commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise across diverse sports disciplines.
