Iranian FM Araqchi Heads to Geneva

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has departed for Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
Araqchi left for Geneva on Sunday evening from Beirut, Lebanon, after attending the funeral of senior Hezbollah figures Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Saffieddine, who were assassinated earlier in the week. Other high-ranking Iranian officials were also present at the ceremony.
The Iranian foreign minister is scheduled to deliver a speech at the UNHRC session, which will commence on Monday and run until April 4. In addition, Araqchi will participate in the 2025 Conference on Disarmament High-level Segment, which is set to take place from February 26 to 29.
During his visit to Geneva, Araqchi is expected to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers and senior diplomats from various countries. He is also scheduled to meet with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to discuss key regional and international issues.
The Iranian delegation’s participation in these forums underscores Tehran’s engagement in global diplomatic efforts on human rights and disarmament.
