Geneva, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s military campaign in Gaza, likening it to the atrocities committed by the Nazis during the Second World War. His remarks were delivered on Tuesday at the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments, held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva from July 29 to 31.

Addressing parliamentary leaders from around the world, Qalibaf warned of a worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, calling it one of the gravest crises of the modern era. “A catastrophe is unfolding in Gaza, which is unparalleled and could only be compared to the darkest pages of human history,” he said.

“We are witnessing the emergence of the Nazis of the 21st century,” Qalibaf declared. “A regime, which through cold-bloodedness and a [grim] scenario, is waging a campaign of aggression that seems to have sprung from the nightmares of the most horrific crimes in history.”

Qalibaf described the Israeli military campaign in Gaza as a “systematic massacre” of Palestinians, emphasizing that the global community must act swiftly to halt the violence. “Zionists, as the Nazis of the 21st century, must be stopped before humanity is drowned forever in the whirlpool of oppression,” he stated.

He urged the international community and fellow parliamentarians to not only condemn the violence but to also examine the root causes, long-term repercussions, and underlying political factors fueling the conflict in Gaza. He called for coordinated and effective global action to resolve the crisis and restore justice to the Palestinian people.

The Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), brings together parliamentary leaders from around the world to discuss multilateral cooperation, democratic governance, and urgent global challenges. This year’s forum is taking place amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing international concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
