Oman, UK Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Regional Stability

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, received David Lammy, Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Justice of the United Kingdom, in Muscat on Thursday, where both sides held talks on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing key regional developments.
The meeting focused on the longstanding friendship between Oman and the United Kingdom, with discussions covering avenues to further strengthen mutual cooperation across various sectors.
Both sides also exchanged views on recent regional developments and their broader implications, underscoring the importance of intensifying international efforts to de-escalate tensions. They emphasized the need to reinforce dialogue and promote peaceful and diplomatic solutions to conflicts, contributing to enhanced regional and global security and stability.
In addition, the officials highlighted the critical importance of ensuring the safety and security of maritime navigation, as well as maintaining the uninterrupted flow of maritime transport to support the stability of global supply chains.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil Al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neighbourhood Department at the Foreign Ministry, along with several other officials from both sides.
