Omani Foreign Minister Calls for Fair and Inclusive Solutions for Palestine at YPO Summit

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Excellency Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, addressed the opening of the 2025 Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO) Summit in Muscat, emphasizing that many international plans for the future of Palestine are based on unjust and unsustainable foundations. He asserted that these plans frequently stem from adversarial policies that deny the Palestinian people their fundamental rights to choose their leadership and determine their own destiny.

His Excellency noted that while numerous governments advocate for a two-state solution as the path to peace in Palestine, they often refrain from recognizing the State of Palestine due to their positions on certain political factions, such as Hamas. He highlighted that this selective recognition obstructs meaningful progress and fails to acknowledge the legitimate demands of these factions.

During his address, His Excellency reiterated the core principles of the Sultanate of Oman’s foreign policy—openness, neutrality, and mutual respect—stating that these values are essential for fostering peace and stability in the region.

The YPO Summit serves as a platform for global leaders to discuss pressing international issues, and His Excellency’s remarks underscore Oman’s commitment to diplomatic engagement and the pursuit of equitable solutions in the Middle East.
