President Aliyev Reaffirms Azerbaijan’s Commitment to Islamic Values and Solidarity

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev has reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s strong commitment to the protection and promotion of Islamic values, describing them as an integral part of the country’s national and spiritual heritage and a guiding moral force for billions of people worldwide.

In a message addressed to participants of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, President Aliyev emphasized the significance Azerbaijan places on preserving Islamic values and fostering unity among Muslim nations.

“Azerbaijan has always attached great importance to the protection of Islamic values, which form an integral part of our national-spiritual values and serve as a moral pillar and guide for billions of people around the world,” the president stated.

Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s active role in promoting the principles of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual respect within the Islamic world. He noted that the country has consistently advanced initiatives aimed at strengthening unity among Muslim nations and encouraging constructive dialogue.

The Azerbaijani president also underscored the country’s close engagement with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), pointing out that Azerbaijan regularly hosts conferences, forums, and other events organized by the OIC and its affiliated institutions.

“We put forward various initiatives to promote the principles of solidarity and mutual respect in Islam and regularly host events of the OIC and its institutions,” he said.

President Aliyev’s remarks reflect Azerbaijan’s continued efforts to contribute to cooperation among OIC member states and to support initiatives that advance peace, mutual understanding, and development across the Islamic world.

The 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States brings together parliamentary representatives and officials from across the Muslim world to discuss issues of common interest and strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation among member countries.
