President Tokayev Meets with Singapore’s Senior Minister to Enhance Bilateral Relations
Singapore, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan held a meeting with Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security of Singapore, as reported by media outlets citing Akorda.
During their discussions, President Tokayev and Mr. Teo Chee Hean reviewed the current state and future prospects of political and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Singapore. President Tokayev expressed Astana’s readiness to open a new chapter in bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of a trusting dialogue and robust trade and investment ties.
President Tokayev also mentioned his honor in addressing the 46th Singapore Lecture, where he focused on regional security, stability, and sustainable development. He noted that this platform is crucial for discussing significant issues affecting both regions.
Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean thanked President Tokayev for his visit to the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. He underscored the relevance of President Tokayev’s lecture in understanding social and political trends, security concerns, and economic developments in the region.
Both leaders exchanged views on international and regional issues, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering closer ties and mutual understanding.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Tokayev signed a copy of his book, “Overcoming. Diplomatic Essays,” written in English, which Mr. Teo Chee Hean had brought from Kazakhstan. This gesture symbolized the deepening of the cultural and diplomatic bonds between the two nations.
