Iran’s President Announces Readiness to Expand Cooperation with Sudan
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has announced his country’s readiness to expand cooperation with Sudan in the near future, expressing satisfaction with the steps taken by both sides to restore diplomatic ties.
During a meeting with Sudanese Foreign Minister Hussein Awad on Wednesday evening, Pezeshkian hailed the progress regarding the re-opening of embassies in Tehran and Khartoum as effective and significant for strengthening and promoting effective relations between the two nations.
In his remarks, President Pezeshkian condemned the recent assassination of Ismail Haniyeh by the Zionist regime, describing it as a continuation of the ongoing crimes and bloodshed in Gaza supported by the regime and its backers. He emphasized that unity and cohesion among Islamic countries and Muslim nations are crucial to confronting such conspiracies and becoming stronger and more resilient.
Foreign Minister Awad, who traveled to Tehran for President Pezeshkian’s inauguration ceremony, condemned the martyrdom of the Hamas political bureau chief and extended his condolences to the governments and peoples of Iran and Palestine. He also congratulated Pezeshkian on his election victory and reaffirmed Sudan’s desire to expand interactions and relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields.
The meeting highlighted the commitment of both countries to enhancing their diplomatic and cooperative efforts, setting a positive tone for future bilateral relations.
