Oman Launches Employers Survey 2025 to Bridge Gap Between Higher Education and Labour Market

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation on Sunday officially launched the Employers Survey 2025, a strategic initiative aimed at evaluating the alignment between higher education outcomes and the evolving demands of Oman’s national labour market.

The project, implemented by the Ministry’s Department of Statistics and Information, seeks to identify the essential skills and competencies required across various economic sectors. The initiative will involve the collection and analysis of data from establishments that have employed higher education graduates between 2018 and 2025, specifically focusing on employment during the first half of the current year (up to June 30).

Her Excellency Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, emphasized the significance of the survey, stating that it represents a vital component in shaping educational policy. “This project is a cornerstone in our efforts to connect higher education with labour market demands, contributing to the realisation of Oman Vision 2040 and supporting the competitiveness of our national economy,” she remarked.

The launch event featured a visual presentation highlighting the survey’s primary goals, methodology, and the stages of its implementation. The project will provide key insights that are expected to influence curriculum development, workforce planning, and policy-making, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to meet the requirements of Oman’s dynamic economic landscape.

The Employers Survey 2025 underscores the Ministry’s commitment to fostering a knowledge-based society and enhancing the employability of Omani graduates through evidence-based strategies and effective stakeholder collaboration.
