President Pezeshkian Condemns Netanyahu’s “Deceptive” Remarks, Urges Focus on Gaza’s Humanitarian Crisis

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for what he described as “deceptive and interventionist” remarks about the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Pezeshkian condemned Netanyahu’s comments, urging him to “first examine the dire situation of Palestinians, especially children in Gaza,” before making false expressions of sympathy for the Iranian people. He accused the Israeli leader of ignoring the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, which he said stems from “the continuation and even intensification of the crimes by the child-killing Zionist regime,” resulting in the deaths of civilians from hunger under the ongoing siege.
“Those who, with a deceptive appearance, falsely claim compassion for the people of Iran should first look at Gaza, where people — particularly children — face death due to hunger, and a lack of clean water and medicine,” the president stated. He added that the Israeli government seeks to humiliate regional countries and has repeatedly attacked them, leaving a legacy of death and destruction. “Claiming to be humane by such vile individuals is nothing but mockery and deception,” he said.
Responding to Netanyahu’s statements on his X account, Pezeshkian wrote: “A regime that deprived the people of Gaza of water and food wants to bring water to the people of Iran? What an illusion!”
During the meeting, Pezeshkian also reviewed reports from various ministries and agencies, including the Health Ministry, which presented an assessment on the impact of sanctions on mortality rates in targeted countries. The president reiterated his call for world leaders, international organizations, and human rights groups to address these alarming findings, stressing that deaths caused by illegal sanctions have exceeded those recorded during both world wars.
