H.H. Sheikha Latifa Visits 14th Sikka Art & Design Festival

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), visited the 14th edition of the Sikka Art & Design Festival, held under her patronage in the Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood.
During her visit, H.H. Sheikha Latifa toured the festival and met with participating artists and creatives, reaffirming her commitment to nurturing emerging talent and strengthening Dubai’s cultural and creative ecosystem. She was accompanied by Maryam Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General of the UAE Cabinet; H.E. Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs; Aisha Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai; and Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture.
H.H. Sheikha Latifa explored a wide range of artworks, installations, and creative projects presented under this year’s theme, “Imagining Dubai: Identities of the Future.” The festival, which supports the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, features more than 450 Emirati and UAE- and GCC-based artists and creatives, offering a platform that showcases the diversity, vitality, and evolving narratives of the regional arts scene.
Highlighting the festival’s sustained growth, H.H. Sheikha Latifa noted its evolution from a platform for experimental art into a recognised cultural space that nurtures creative talent and enriches Dubai’s wider cultural landscape. She emphasised that Sikka continues to serve as an important launchpad for artists, providing opportunities to explore new ideas, engage with the public, and shape cultural dialogue.
Now in its 14th edition, the Sikka Art & Design Festival reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub for culture and creativity, fostering meaningful connections between artists, communities, and the city’s historic urban fabric. The festival runs until February 1, inviting the public to experience art that reflects both local identity and future aspirations.
