Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization Honors Haitham bin Tarik With Top Cultural Medal

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization has awarded His Majesty Haitham bin Tarik the Supreme Class of the Arab Cultural Excellence Medal in recognition of his significant contributions to supporting Arab culture, preserving Arab identity, and advancing intellectual and knowledge development across the Arab world.

Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, said the honour reflects His Majesty’s noble vision of strengthening the status of knowledge and culture and highlighting their civilisational role in promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence, and rapprochement among peoples.

He noted that the award also acknowledges the Sultan’s efforts to reinforce cultural dialogue and foster intellectual development throughout the Arab region.

According to the ministry, Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization will hold an official ceremony at its headquarters in Tunis on Tuesday to honour His Majesty the Sultan. The ceremony is expected to be attended by senior officials, intellectuals, and prominent figures involved in Arab cultural affairs.

Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Tunis, Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization is a specialised organisation of the League of Arab States. The organisation works to advance education, culture, and science in Arab countries, promote Arab cultural and knowledge integration, preserve cultural heritage, and strengthen intellectual and cultural partnerships among member states.
