Ankara, The Gulf Observer: The upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara on July 7–8 will focus on increasing defence investments and strengthening the alliance’s deterrence and defence capabilities, Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran said on Sunday.

In a statement, Duran said leaders of NATO member states are expected to hold strategic-level discussions on security challenges, threats, and risks facing the Euro-Atlantic region, as well as measures to enhance the alliance’s collective defence posture.

As part of the summit programme, Türkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdogan will host visiting heads of state and government, along with their spouses, at a reception and dinner at the Presidential Complex on July 7.

The North Atlantic Council is scheduled to convene on July 8 under the chairmanship of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the level of allied heads of state and government.

On the sidelines of the summit, President Erdogan is also expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with participating leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest and regional and international developments.

In a separate post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Duran said Türkiye is expanding its influence in the international system by hosting major global gatherings, including the NATO Summit, the Organization of Turkic States Summit, and the COP31 climate conference.

He said that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Türkiye continues to play a prominent role in international diplomacy through mediation efforts, humanitarian assistance, and initiatives aimed at promoting regional stability.

Sharing a video produced by the Communications Directorate under the title “Seal of the Future,” Duran said Türkiye remains committed to contributing to a fairer international order and will continue to serve as a center for peace, dialogue, and international cooperation.
