Turkish Foreign Minister Reports Strong Relations with Russia
Moscow, The Gulf Observer: During a recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the positive trajectory of relations between Moscow and Ankara. “Relations between Moscow and Ankara are going ‘really well,'” Fidan stated, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
The meeting, held at the Kremlin Palace, coincided with Fidan’s attendance at the BRICS meeting and included a series of bilateral discussions.
Fidan highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance trade between Turkiye and Russia, noting, “There are steps to be taken on trade.”
Addressing the situation in Ukraine, Fidan reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to mediation. “Türkiye is determined to continue all possible mediation efforts on Ukraine,” he affirmed.
On the topic of Syria, Fidan expressed dedication to maintaining stability in line with the policies established by President Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “Regarding Syria, we are doing our best to continue the stability policy that you, as two leaders, have put forward,” he said.
Fidan also noted that these significant issues were thoroughly discussed during his talks in Moscow.
This meeting underscores the ongoing cooperation and strong diplomatic ties between Turkey and Russia, as both nations navigate complex regional and international challenges.
