Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Addresses 79th United Nations General Assembly

New York, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, delivered a significant speech during the general debate of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday. Addressing key global issues, Wang called for immediate action to prevent further escalation of the Ukraine crisis.

“The top priority is to commit to no expansion of the crisis, no escalation of the tension, and no provocation by any party,” Wang said, emphasizing the need for urgent efforts to de-escalate the situation and pursue peace. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to playing a constructive role, stating that Beijing is actively engaged in shuttle diplomacy and mediation efforts aimed at facilitating peace talks.

Turning to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Wang stressed the importance of achieving a comprehensive ceasefire in the Middle East without delay. He underscored that the two-state solution is the only viable path to resolving the conflict and restoring lasting peace in the region.

“China always supports the just cause of the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate national rights and supports Palestine’s full UN membership,” Wang added, reaffirming China’s long-standing stance in favor of Palestinian self-determination.

Wang’s address highlighted China’s role in promoting global peace and stability, calling on the international community to work collectively toward diplomatic solutions in regions marked by conflict. His speech resonated with calls for immediate ceasefires and peaceful resolutions to ongoing global crises.
