Indonesia and Germany Forge Partnership for Industrial Vocational Training

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: In a bid to enhance the quality of its workforce and facilitate opportunities in the German labor market, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry has formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on industrial vocational education and training with the Malikal Zentrum Institute (MZI), representing the German Senior Experten Service (SES) in Indonesia.

Masrokhan, the head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) at the ministry, elaborated on the objectives of this collaboration during Thursday’s announcement. He emphasized that the partnership aims to prepare graduates from the ministry’s vocational education unit for participation in Germany’s labor force, ensuring they meet the requisite standards of the German industry.

The collaboration will primarily focus on providing preparatory training for the Ausbildung program in Germany, designed to align with the latest industry benchmarks. The Ausbildung program, spanning approximately three years, offers specialized training in various majors, with Indonesian participants having the option to choose from 348 fields of expertise.

Under this initiative, participants will receive guidance from certified mentors and undergo competency assessments to validate their skills against German industry standards.

Masrokhan expressed optimism regarding the prospects of the collaboration, envisioning a continuation of cooperative programs beyond the MoU signing. He highlighted the potential for educational units to enhance their competencies through SES support, while interested alumni can pursue educational and career opportunities in Germany through the Ausbildung program.

Adam Pamma, Director of the Malikal Zentrum Institute (MZI), echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the broader scope for collaboration between vocational education units in Indonesia and Germany. Pamma expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the development of industrial human resources in Indonesia, underscoring the importance of tangible outcomes following the MoU signing.
