International Pilgrimage Tourism Week Opens in Bukhara
Bukhara, The Gulf Observer: The International Pilgrimage Tourism Week commenced in Bukhara, celebrating the city’s rich scientific and spiritual heritage and its significance in the Islamic world.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the tourism and religious sectors, international and local media, and members of the Committees on Religious Affairs and Tourism.

This year’s event highlights the contributions of esteemed Islamic figures such as Abu Hafs Kabir Bukhari, Sayf al-Din Bakharzi, Abdulkholik Gijduvani, and Bahauddin Naqshband. Bukhara, standing among the renowned cities of Makkah, Madinah, Mazar-i-Sharif, Jerusalem, Baghdad, and Damascus, continues to exemplify its invaluable role in the Islamic world.
Tourism Development Initiatives
Uzbekistan is actively implementing reforms to boost pilgrimage tourism, including:
