Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Sign Military Cooperation Agreement for 2025

Baku, The Gulf Observer: A high-level delegation from Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan, led by Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, arrived in Baku at the invitation of Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, NHC reported. The visit took place during the 5th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX) at Baku Expo Center, where the Kazakh delegation surveyed the latest defense technologies and innovations.

On the sidelines of the event, Zhaksylykov and Hasanov held discussions focused on strengthening bilateral military cooperation. Zhaksylykov highlighted the positive progress in defense collaboration between the two nations, noting that over 30 joint events have been organized in recent years. Among these, Azerbaijani military personnel participated in Kazakhstan’s Birlestik 2024 operational-tactical command and staff exercises and the Altyn Qyran 2024 joint tactical-special exercises.

Following the talks, both defense ministries signed a comprehensive military cooperation plan for 2025, outlining further joint activities and initiatives to deepen defense ties. Additionally, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the national defense universities of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, aiming to enhance educational and training exchanges between the two nations’ military institutions.

This visit marks another milestone in the ongoing partnership between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, reinforcing their commitment to regional security and military collaboration.
