Kazakhstan and Venezuela to Enhance Cooperation in Tourism

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Tourism and Sport, Yermek Marzhikpayev, held a productive meeting with the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Kazakhstan, Rosalba Lo Bue Antico, as reported by media.

The discussions centered on the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in tourism and sport between Kazakhstan and Venezuela. Minister Marzhikpayev took the opportunity to congratulate the people of Venezuela on their Independence Day, wishing them continued prosperity.

“Our countries have enormous tourism potential. Despite this, we observe a low level of tourist flow. According to statistics, 243 Venezuelan tourists visited Kazakhstan last year, while no Kazakhstani citizen traveled to Venezuela,” said Marzhikpayev. He attributed the low numbers to the lack of direct flights and the presence of visa requirements, suggesting that these issues be addressed more thoroughly to increase tourist flow and enhance cooperation.

Minister Marzhikpayev also highlighted the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, extending his best wishes for high results to the Venezuelan athletes.

In response, Ambassador Lo Bue Antico proposed several initiatives and projects aimed at promoting cooperation in sport and tourism. She also suggested signing a number of bilateral agreements between the sport ministries of both countries.

Additionally, Minister Marzhikpayev requested the Ambassador’s assistance in facilitating the participation of Venezuelan athletes in the V World Nomad Games, scheduled for September 8-13 in Astana.

Concluding the meeting, the Kazakh Minister extended an invitation to Venezuelan tour operators to participate in the Tourism & Travel International Exhibition to be held in Kazakhstan in 2025.
