Malaysian High Commission Hosts 3C Forum in Islamabad to Strengthen Cultural and Educational Ties with Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad successfully hosted the “3C Forum: Culture, Cuisines & Connections” — a special engagement designed to enhance Malaysia–Pakistan relations through cultural diplomacy and alumni engagement. The event brought together alumni of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and former students of Malaysian universities.
The forum was officially inaugurated by H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, and was graced by H.E. Mr. Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan.
A diverse audience attended the event, including the Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Heads of Missions from ASEAN countries, Pakistani government officials, MTCP alumni, media professionals, and academic representatives. The forum showcased corporate videos highlighting Malaysia’s higher education, the upcoming “Visit Malaysia 2026” campaign, and the global impact of the MTCP, which has benefited over 37,000 participants from 144 countries, including more than 800 Pakistani professionals.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar Mazlan emphasized the strategic role of alumni networks in fostering diplomatic, academic, and economic ties. He highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to becoming a global hub for higher education and technical cooperation, with strengths in Islamic finance, halal industry, aerospace, and semiconductors.
Minister Attaullah Tarar fondly recalled his personal visit to Malaysia, praising the country’s cultural richness, modern development, and hospitality. He affirmed Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing bilateral ties, referencing Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s successful visit to Pakistan in October 2024. He also expressed anticipation for Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to Malaysia, expected to deepen cooperation in high-tech sectors, TVET, and tourism.
A key feature of the event was an alumni panel discussion where former MTCP participants shared their transformative experiences in Malaysia and their ongoing contributions to Pakistan’s development. An interactive Q&A session further enriched the dialogue.
The forum concluded with a networking high tea showcasing Malaysian cuisine, fostering deeper engagement among attendees and promoting future avenues for bilateral cooperation. The 3C Forum stood as a vibrant platform to celebrate shared values and people-to-people connections between Malaysia and Pakistan.
