Premiere of ‘Altyndzhan’ Staged at Seyitnazar Seydi State Musical and Drama Theater on International Women’s Day

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: On the eve of International Women’s Day, the Seyitnazar Seydi State Musical and Drama Theater presented the premiere of the play Altyndzhan, based on Osman Odayev’s novel Altyndzhan Khatyn.

The successful premiere was part of the competition “A Mother’s Heart is Filled with Warmth,” organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan.

The play was adapted for the stage by Bayram Akadov, a senior lecturer at the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi and a candidate of philological sciences. The production was directed by theater director Perkhat Khudaiberenov.

Set in the 11th century, the play revolves around notable historical figures Togrul-bek and his wife Altynjan. The engaging plot and powerful performances transported the audience into a historical realm, enriched further by the play’s poetic composition, which added to its artistic impact.

The production highlights the bravery, devotion, and resilience of Turkmen women during challenging times. Altynjan’s unwavering loyalty to her husband and family, as well as her courage and sense of justice, form the core of the narrative.

The audience responded with resounding applause to the stellar performances of young actors Dovlet Khaitgulyev and Aisen Nazarova, who portrayed Togrul-bek and Altynjan, respectively.

The set design was crafted by the honored artist of Turkmenistan, Myrat Khaityyev, while the musical composition by Ruslan Khemraev seamlessly complemented the unfolding events of the play.
