Syria’s Ahmed Al Sharaa Thanks President Erdogan for Warm Welcome and Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: The President of Syria’s Transitional Government, Ahmed Al Sharaa, has expressed his deep gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the warm hospitality extended during his official visit to Türkiye earlier this week.
In a statement released via Telegram on Wednesday, Syria’s presidency highlighted Al Sharaa’s appreciation of Türkiye’s steadfast support for the Syrian people’s just cause, underscoring the strong ties of brotherhood between the two nations. Al Sharaa conveyed his heartfelt thanks to President Erdogan, acknowledging the generous welcome he received throughout his visit to Türkiye.
“I extend my deepest thanks and appreciation to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the hospitality and generous welcome he showed during our visit to friendly Türkiye,” Al Sharaa stated.
The statement further emphasized the desire for continued and enhanced coordination between the two countries across key areas, including politics, economics, and security. Both sides expressed interest in fostering increased cooperation that would serve their mutual interests in the years ahead.
Al Sharaa’s visit to Türkiye included high-level talks with President Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on Tuesday. The discussions focused on vital issues, particularly reconstruction efforts in Syria, border security, and joint counterterrorism initiatives targeting PKK/YPG and Daesh terrorist organizations.
