UAE and Sweden Discuss Enhancing Parliamentary and Bilateral Cooperation
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the UAE Federal National Council (FNC), held a meeting with Dag Hartelius, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The discussions focused on enhancing parliamentary cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors.
Both sides explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in economic development, artificial intelligence, green economy investments, renewable energy, and modern technology. The meeting underscored the importance of leveraging parliamentary diplomacy to complement official diplomatic efforts in fostering stronger ties between the UAE and Sweden.
Regional issues and efforts to promote stability were also on the agenda. Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted the UAE’s enduring commitment to tolerance and coexistence, values deeply ingrained since the founding of the Union. He reiterated the UAE’s dedication to building cooperative relations with all nations to achieve peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Dag Hartelius expressed Sweden’s enthusiasm for strengthening ties with the UAE across multiple domains. He commended the UAE’s progress and its robust investment and trade environment, which continues to attract Swedish companies. Hartelius also extended his congratulations to the UAE on its 53rd Eid Al Etihad, wishing the nation ongoing prosperity and advancement.
