Dubai Hosts 10th Emirati Media Forum Under Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the Dubai Press Club organized the 10th edition of the Emirati Media Forum (EMF) at the Museum of the Future, bringing together leading Emirati media figures, editors-in-chief, writers, content creators, and industry pioneers to discuss the future of the UAE’s media and its role in shaping national narratives.
During the event, H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), delivered a keynote address titled “Our True Story… Our Message to the World.”
In her speech, H.H. Sheikha Latifa emphasized that the true strength of media lies not merely in delivering news but in its power to tell stories that reveal the human experience and reflect the values upon which the UAE was built.
“We take great pride in everything our nation has accomplished, guided by the vision and determined efforts of our leadership. Yet one of our greatest challenges today is communicating with the world through an inspiring, authentic and impactful narrative,” she said, highlighting the importance of storytelling that reflects the UAE’s identity, integrity, and values.
H.H. Sheikha Latifa underscored that impactful storytelling is measured by resonance — by how it touches hearts and shapes minds. “True achievements are not measured in numbers or headlines, but in the ideas that ignite change and the stories that inspire humanity,” she said, stressing that the media’s greatest role is to nurture hope and drive positive transformation.
She described the UAE’s story as one of unity, innovation, and compassion — a story that must be told with honesty and courage. “Media is more than a messenger; it is the voice of our identity and a reflection of our values. It carries the responsibility of sharing our story with the world, guided by integrity and open to diverse cultures and ideas,” she said.
H.H. Sheikha Latifa also highlighted Dubai’s global reputation as a city of ambition and possibility, noting that this recognition carries a responsibility to present human-centered stories that transcend stereotypes and highlight shared values. She called on media professionals to counter misinformation and uphold truth, integrity, and cultural authenticity.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, delivered the opening remarks, noting that under the guidance of the UAE’s leadership, the Emirati Media Forum has evolved into a leading platform for dialogue and advancement in national media.
She said that since its inception a decade ago, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has consistently emphasized that Emirati media must serve as the nation’s voice and an active partner in its development.
Al Marri pointed out that this year’s edition coincides with the lead-up to the ‘National Month’, which celebrates key national occasions that tell the UAE’s story. She reaffirmed that Emirati media remains a vital partner in narrating this journey and contributing to the nation’s continued progress.
She also highlighted the ‘Zayed & Rashid’ campaign, returning for its second year under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed. Organized by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, from November 3 to December 2, 2025, the campaign honors the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, whose leadership shaped the UAE’s foundation and development.
Al Marri stressed that national unity among media institutions reflects the UAE media sector’s commitment to fostering identity, pride, and national cohesion while showcasing the country’s achievements to the world. She urged media leaders to continue driving innovation, investing in emerging talent, and building an influential narrative that reflects the UAE’s unique cultural, developmental, and humanitarian vision.
The Forum’s program featured panel discussions on rapidly growing global media sectors, including film production and gaming, exploring opportunities to strengthen the UAE’s presence in these fields. A dedicated session addressed the regulatory frameworks needed to build a strong and competitive media industry rooted in responsible freedom and professional ethics.
Another open dialogue brought together leading media figures and thought leaders to share insights into the future of the UAE’s media sector and its evolving role in global communications.
Now marking its 10th anniversary, the Emirati Media Forum continues to serve as the most prominent gathering of the national media community, fostering collaboration among local institutions to address sector challenges and define pathways for growth. The Forum remains committed to enhancing the competitiveness of Emirati media, reinforcing its constructive role in supporting national development, and amplifying the UAE’s story to the world — one defined by progress, unity, and shared humanity.
