President Tokayev Launches Nationwide ‘Taza Kazakhstan’ Eco Campaign on Day of Purification

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the nation on the occasion of Tazaru Kuni (Day of Purification), announcing the launch of a large-scale ecological campaign under the national project Taza Kazakhstan, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and national unity, the Akorda press service reported.
In his address, President Tokayev called on citizens to unite for environmental cleanliness and a sustainable future, describing Tazaru Kuni as a significant milestone within the Nauryznama decade celebrations.
“This is a special day in celebration of the Nauryznama decade. The renewal of our society has become a part of the renewal of nature itself. Such a timely coincidence cannot help but inspire all of us to work selflessly for the good of our Motherland,” he stated.
The President announced the nationwide rollout of the Möldir Bulaq initiative, which will focus on cleaning natural springs, coastal areas, and reservoirs. He added that mass tree plantation drives, along with the cleaning of courtyards, parks, and public spaces, would continue across the country.
Highlighting the constitutional dimension of environmental responsibility, Tokayev noted that the newly adopted People’s Constitution—introduced during the Nauryz celebrations—enshrines care for nature as a fundamental societal principle.
“The new People’s Constitution will become the core of social consolidation, a moral and legal guide, and an unshakable foundation of our Independence,” he underscored.
President Tokayev further emphasized that the Constitution would promote key societal values, including unity, responsible patriotism, and the principles embodied in Taza Kazakhstan.
He explained that the concept of Taza Kazakhstan extends beyond physical cleanliness to encompass purity of thought and collective commitment toward the well-being of citizens.
“More and more of our citizens are choosing an ecological lifestyle and rational resource consumption, which is the key to a bright future. I call on all Kazakhstanis to take part in the relay of cleanliness and order,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the nation’s future, Tokayev added that collective efforts would pave the way for building a “Just, Clean, and Progressive Kazakhstan.”
Observed annually on March 23 as part of the Nauryznama decade, Tazaru Kuni symbolizes renewal, harmony with nature, and the beginning of a new chapter, encouraging citizens to leave behind past burdens and embrace a sustainable future.
