Amir of Qatar and President Xi discuss strengthening strategic partnership
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Amir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of China HE Xi Jinping, held an official session of talks, on the sidelines of the Riyadh-Chinese Gulf Summit for Cooperation and Development, and the Riyadh-Chinese Arab Summit for Cooperation and Development in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
At the beginning of the session, the Chinese President congratulated His Highness the Amir on the success of organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, praising His Highness for the good organization, wishing the relations between the two countries further progress and development.
For his part, His Highness the Amir thanked the Chinese President for the congratulations, highlighting the importance of holding such major sports tournaments in the Arab world and the Asian continent.
Amir also renewed his congratulations to the Chinese President on his re-election as General Secretary of the Ruling Communist Party.
During the session, they reviewed the strategic partnership relations between the two friendly countries and aspects of their development in various fields, especially economic, investment, energy and industry.
Amir and the Chinese President also discussed the most important issues on the regional and international arenas of common concern, and the most prominent topics on the agenda of the two summits.
The session was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation.
