Uzbekistan, Germany to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a constructive meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, Tilo Klinner, to deliberate on the current state and future prospects of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation. The discussions encompassed the timely implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and strategies for enhancing collaboration between the business communities of both nations.
Throughout the meeting, both parties acknowledged the substantial progress in Uzbekistan-Germany relations, particularly highlighting the successful trajectory of trade and economic interactions. It was noted that by the end of 2023, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany is anticipated to exceed a billion dollars, demonstrating the growing economic ties. Germany’s investments in Uzbekistan have already reached $913.2 million, reflecting the confidence and commitment of German investors in the Uzbek market.
The collaboration extends to the establishment of 215 enterprises in Uzbekistan with the participation of German capital, including 112 individual entrepreneurs. This underscores the depth and diversity of economic engagement between the two nations, fostering entrepreneurship and joint ventures.
Following the discussions, the parties focused on delineating measures for the continual development of trade, economy, and investment cooperation. Additionally, an agreement was reached to collaboratively develop proposals aimed at further expanding and diversifying mutual trade, fostering a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership.
The Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, expressed optimism about the outcomes of the meeting and reiterated Uzbekistan’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for foreign investments and promoting sustained economic growth.
