Donald Trump Appoints Stanley Woodward to White House Legal Team
Washington, The Gulf Observer: Former President Donald Trump, preparing for his return to the White House, has named Stanley Woodward, a seasoned attorney with a history of defending key figures in his administration and individuals charged in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots, to join his White House legal team.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Trump’s transition team confirmed that Woodward would serve as an Assistant to the President and Senior Counselor, collaborating closely with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
This announcement follows Trump’s decision last month to appoint David Warrington as the lead lawyer for his White House legal team. Warrington replaced William McGinley, who transitioned to a role with an external organization led by billionaire Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Woodward, based in Washington, D.C., has represented numerous figures in Trump’s orbit, including adviser Dan Scavino, trade adviser Peter Navarro, and aide Walt Nauta. He has also provided legal defense for individuals involved in the January 6 riots, such as Oath Keeper Kelly Meggs.
In addition to naming Woodward, Trump announced the return of three aides from his first term: Robert Gabriel, Nicholas Luna, and William “Beau” Harrison, signaling continuity in his administrative team.
With these appointments, Trump appears focused on fortifying his legal and advisory framework ahead of his second term, leveraging the expertise of individuals familiar with his administration and legal challenges.
