President Lukashenko Calls for National Improvement and Quality Standards in Belarus
Minsk, The Gulf Observer: Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has emphasized the need for comprehensive enhancements across the country, dubbing the next five years as the “Five-Year Period of Quality” and declaring 2025 as the “Year of Improvement.” Speaking at a meeting with authorized representatives on 3rd January, Lukashenko outlined his vision for raising national standards.
“I have instructed the head of the President Administration to prepare two decrees: one focused on the five-year period of quality and the other on the improvement of our country,” the president announced. “This marks the first time I will sign such detailed decrees on these matters.”
Reflecting on the “Year of Quality” initiative, Lukashenko noted its swift passage with limited public engagement. “The media lacked sufficient opportunities to cover the initiative adequately, which contributed to its understated impact. This time, we must approach the matter with proper diligence, avoiding formality,” he stated.
The decrees, set to be finalized in January, will provide a roadmap for improvement efforts. “People need to understand what improvement entails and what steps are necessary to achieve it. Our task is to make everything top-notch, ensuring our country’s cleanliness and beauty are unparalleled,” Lukashenko affirmed.
Addressing the challenges ahead, the president acknowledged the significant financial investment required and reiterated his focus on resolving persistent issues such as pricing and public utilities. “Strict discipline is essential. Everything agreed upon must be implemented by the government, the President Administration, and other bodies,” he added.
The initiatives aim to enhance living standards, instill discipline, and reinforce Belarus’s image as an attractive destination for visitors and a model of national pride.
